Context

Habits are the roots of who you become.

The project

Rootine — a play on root and routine — is a habit tracker built around one simple principle: consistency beats intensity. Ten minutes of exercise every day is worth more than one two-hour session a week.

Features

Home — the checklist of today's habits, with an animated checkbox (spring and haptic feedback), an overall progress bar and a congratulations message when everything is done. A Yesterday / Today toggle allows checking off retroactively.

Routines — creating, editing and deleting the habits you track.

Calendar — a monthly heatmap where colour intensity reflects that day's completion rate. Consistency becomes visible at a glance.

Statistics — current streaks, completion rate, trends over time.

The stance

Most habit apps punish forgetting: broken streaks, lost badges, guilt-tripping notifications. That lever motivates for a week, then produces the opposite effect — you uninstall rather than face the dashboard.

Rootine takes the opposite stance. You can check off yesterday, no streak breaks for good, and the tone stays encouraging. The point is to keep going for months, not to win a score.

Stack

SwiftUI and SwiftData, with no external dependency. All data stays on the device.
